Seder Dinner

The Passover Seder is a Jewish ritual fest held on the first and the second night of the Jewish holiday of Passover. Our church celebrates by having a Seder dinner with a host family leading the meal. Seder dinner was held on Thursday, April 9, 2009.

We were the host family this year. The Mother role is to say the first prayer and light the candles. Then the father takes it from there for the rest of the evening. Rick did a great job of reading the script and leading the group in the many toasts, washing of hands, dipping the bitter herbs, etc... The boys also had a few reading parts asking questions of why stuff is done. It was great learning experience for everyone.


The Meal.

The wine. This is the only night which alcohol can be served in church.

Rick joined in on the dancing around the room. By now there has been 3 glasses of wine served and as you can see we are all enjoying ourselves.

Our good friends R&G Brown. They are the main organizers of the Seder Dinner and donated the "Chance R" wine from watermill winery.

April 5, 2009 BASH - End of Ski Season

Sunday, April 5th, is the annual BASH party at Bluewood to celebrate the end of ski season and start of spring. It was a beautiful day. 20 degrees at 5am but my mid day it had to be in the high 40's. Sunny, Sunny, Sunny...... Rick and ELK had to stay home because ELK was running a 104 fever when we got up to go skiing. He had a high fever on Saturday also. It is just the not the same having the whole family there for the celebration.

This was made my Mike Hammon of Melody Mufflers in Walla Walla, WA. A very talented artist and also a great muffler repair shop. He does not rip you off like a ot of them. He will fix just the part that needs fixed and not tell you that a whole new muffler system is needed. I know this from experience. I would not go to anyone else.

ADK rode the rails for the first time every. It helps that there has been so much snow to build around the rails. Usually there is about 2-3 feet from the top of the rail to snow. Not today there was only 6--10 inches. This really helped his confidence and gave him the ability to give it a try. He did not over and over again.

ADKnjoyed watching the big air competition. He was also have a snow ball fight with a few other boys during the big air competition. One turned out the be the Grandson of the ski resort owners, Stan and Nancy Goodell.

This video is of DR U who was the ER doctor that treated ELK when he broke his collar bone skiing in January. ELK enjoyed watching this video Sunday evening.
