Deck the Halls - Camp Lutherhaven

 Saturday morning we woke and took a early morning walk looking for parts of the nativity scene. The morning sunrise was beautiful.

 ELK found the Innkeeper piece of the nativity scene. He got a bandanna as his prize for finding part of the puzzle.

 Saturday was spend sleding, crafts, and other fun activities.

 Saturday evening was a family fun night - Around the World Christmas. One activity was a contest between family's to see who could make the best snowman out of one roll of toilet paper and some sheets of colored paper. We used ELK as our snowman body. ADK and Rick wrapped him up while I worked on the other stuff. We had 5 minutes to create our snowman. It was lots of fun.

Christmas Tree Decorating

The boys helped RB decorate the tree at Church this past Thursday evening.

The tree is about 16ft tall.

Piglets are here!

 We found pigs just outside of Basin City, Wa North of Pasco. Rick and Jerry went yesterday to pick the little guys up. 5 of them are a Hampshire cross and one is a Yorkshire cross. They are the cuties little guys. One of them is much smaller that the rest. He was only $10 and we plan to have a group BBQ with him when he gets bigger. I have named him Wilbur. He is the one in the middle and is about half the size of all the others.

Haunted Walk

 All the neighborhood kids have fun raking leaves to fill bags up. Then they built a haunted walk to the house for Halloween. The kids would hide behind the bags and scare kids as they came up for candy.

 ADK was on the roof of the house scaring kids from there.

 Stephanie and myself at the start of the Grand Fondo ride in Walla Walla, Wa. We chose the mid crush ride which was advertised at 30 miles but turned out to be 37 miles.

 ADK rode the ride with me.

 Riding along keeping ahead of the the Whitman cycling team. Turns out we stayed ahead of the them because there job was to ride behind the people on the ride. Guess who that was???? Me! But I rode the whole ride. The farthest I have every rode a bike. YEAH!

ADK Cross Country

 ADK ran cross country for Mac High this year. It was his first time every running and did well.

Scrapbooking in Bellevue

 Gina and I went on our annual weekend scrapbook retreat to Bellevue, WA. As usual we had lots of fun and got little scrapbooking done. Did get lots of new ideas.

 This is our table at the Friday Night crop. There was around 400 women at the crop. It was the largest one that Creative Keepsakes had had all year long.

Lefse

The Saturday after Thanksgiving was the annual Lefse making at church. Lefse is a traditional soft Norwegian flatbread. Lefse is made out of potato, milk or cream and flour, and cooked on a griddle. Special tools are used for lefse baking, including long wooden turning sticks and special rolling pins with deep grooves.

It was a snow day so there was a low turn out for lefse making. Those that showed had a great time and lots of lefse to take home to eat.
