ADK wrestling in Pendleton

ADK wrestled in Pendleton and won all three of his matches.

The first match was against a guy from Pendleton and it went all three rounds.

ADK won in points.

The second match was also against a guy from Pendleton.

Andrew won that match by pinning the guy in the first round.

The third round was also against a guy from Pendleton and he won that one in a few second. It was the kids first year wrestling and basically ADK was able to flip him over and go the pin.

CTK Skating

I am a bit slow on posting theses photos from Ice Skating. Christ the King Lutheran Youth group went skating on January 22, 2010 at the Ice Chalet in Walla Walla, WA. There was a great turnout of families.

ADK not wanting his picture taken. Crazy kid. He started skating with no coat then decided it was a bit cold so he had me go get his coat in the car. Then is it was an on and off evening with the coat.

ADK and Pastor JJ started playing tag part way through the evening. JJ is trying to catch ADK.

Still has not tagged ADK.

Then Theresa joined in on the fun and gave ADK a run for his money.

Theresa actually tagged him a few times. This being one of them.

ELK helped Theresa K. around the rink a few laps then she called it quits. I did not even get out and give it a try. It was a great evening and fun was had by all until the last few minutes when Bruce(one of the parents) fell and broke his leg in 5 places. They ended up doing surgery and placing a plate in his leg the following day. While Bruse was down we all stayed waiting for the Ambulance to arrive. Andrew was reading the "RULES" and told Pastor JJ and Theresa that the three of them broke all teh rules but one! Guess we need to have the read the rules before going out on the ice.

Ski Bluewood

It was a great afternoon of skiing.

Skiing on MLK Day

ADK has not been skiing for 2-3 years. Today he decided he want to try skiing again so he grab his dad's gear and off we went. He did pretty good for not skiing for a few years. He just did not feel comfortable so gave up after the first run and switch back to his snow board. Must say he is a much better boarder but that is just because he did not give the long board time.

ELK also switch to snow boarding after the first run. It has bee a few years for him for snowboarding. He did great his first run and stuf with it until lunch. His legs were getting tired so he switched back to skiis. It is much easy for him to ski.

ADK was a big help to ELK. He help do the binding up just about every trip. Mainly because ELK is a little slow getting the binding done up and ADK does not like waiting. It's OK if the family is waiting on him but he does not like waiting on the family.

ADK - Wrestling

ADK had his first wrestling match Thrusday, Jan 13, 2010 at Sunridge Middle School in Pendleton.

They were broke up into groups of four according to weight. He was matched with BY from Central, LaGrande, and Hermiston. BY is one of his best friends and he knew going into that match he was going to loss because BY has wrestled for many years and is very quick and a great wrestler.

ADK and BY wrestled in the first round of matches. The two were smiling and laughing through the whole match. I think that BY took it easy on ADK so they could wrestle all three rounds. BY won in points. Both boys left the mat smiling and joking.

Yeah I made it through the match without BY pinning me! Had fun wrestling him because I knew I was going to lose.

ADK second match was against a kid from Hermiston. This was a hard match for him. ADK lost that one in points also.

His third match was against a kid from LaGrande. Almost pinned him in the second round but ran out of time....or was it steam....

ADK pulled through and won his last match.

Dog Sitting

The brother-in-law is gone to Mexico for a week so we are babysitting the dogs. Sammie, the small one is staying at our house and sleeping with ELK. She came with her own pillow and blanket.

Sammie is the one eyed dog. She lost one eye a few months ago. She has so much hair that you can hardly tell she is missing an eye.
