ADK's First baseball game

It rained all day long and I was very surprised that they even attempted to play the game. It started sprinkling in the first inning and by the end of the inning it was a downpour. They continued to play 2 complete innings in the downpour until they called the game.
Ball
Strike
Foul tip and the next one was a foul for an out.
End of the game the boys quick shook hands and ran off the field.

Wild Hogs 4H

The boys 4H Club Wild Hogs met Sunday evening to work with the pigs. It was the first time that whole group has worked with the pigs together and it sure showed. They have some work before Junior Show which is only a few weeks away.
ELK and his pig. ELK needs to learn not to touch his pig when showing. He needs to use the cane. He tends to touch the pig instead of using the cane.
ELK feeding his pig part of an orange while ADK watches. ELK's pig would have nothing to do with the orange.
ADK working his pig trying to get it position to show the hams to the judge.
The Wild Hogs group.
After an hour or so of working the pigs this one had had enough of it and just laid down for a nap.

ELK's pigs ear tag has the same number as his cousin JR's birthday. JR's has been helping the boys with learning to show. He showed pigs in High School
ADK's pig is leading the pack. Which is quite a surprise. It is the one we has the most trouble with when we had to load then in the trailer for weigh in.

Elk Pitching

ELK has some great facial expressions when he pitches. It is fun to watch.
And it's a strike!

Les Schwab Baseball

ELK had a great game this evening. We was the catcher for the first 3 innings then moved to pitcher for 1 1/2 innings. He finished the game playing short stop. Had a few good hits in the out field.
This hit brought in a runner. His team won the game 13-11 in 5 innings.
The game was called after 2 1/2 hour of play.
ELK loves taunting the pitcher and catcher.
Every pitch he was dancing around out there playing with them.
He finally attempts to steal home on a wild pitch.
And he's out! Was a good try stealing home.

ELKS first game of the season

Baseball Season is here

Elk had his first game Monday night and they won 15-6 in 4 innings. The game was called at the end of 4 innings after 2 hours and 15 minutes of play. There is a 2 hour game limits that the league is trying to follow especially on a school night. Tonight will be his second game.

ADK baseball practice started Monday night. His first game is on April 27th. He is also practicing with the Mac High golf team. Since he is in 8th grade he is unable to play in the tournaments but like practicing with the team anyway.
This is a photo that the HS yearbook staff took of him practicing with the golf team. The coach and other golf team members are impressed with his golf skill. He is better than most on the team. He will probably make the vasity team next year. He is planning on playing in some Junior State tournaments that are held in the area this summer. He is also trying to get a job with the local golf course but still to young.

Learning how to show the pigs.

They guys are sorting out ELK and AD's pig so they can work with them.

The boys cousin JR is showing ELK where to tap the pig to make it move around the show ring.

The Jowl, which is the area under the lower jaw, is where you can tap the pig to make it move.

ADK is practicing walking with the pigs.

ELK learning a few more tips on how to control you pig.

Pigs were getting hot so we got them some water and they had fun playing in the water.

Elks Easter Egg Hunt

Elks Lodge puts on a Easter Egg Hunt every year. Rick took ELK and his friend DB.
The boys had a lot of fun and added more candy to the pile they already had gotten at the
City Easter Egg Hunt.

2010 Community Easter Egg Hunt

ELK's last year at the community Easter Egg Hunt. The past few years the Kiwanis Club has put on the

ELKn is heading out to get the golden egg. There were about 6 or so kids that went out for it and Evan came out of the pile holding the egg.
ELK got $5 golden dollars for the golden egg. Which he turned around and shared $2 of the dollars with two friends. I thought that was very nice of him.

Geocaching in the Gorge

We walked up the Deschutes River looking for a Goecache. The boys had fun playing on the log.

Got to love 14 year olds! Doesn't want his picture taken but it's OK to make funny faces in the background.

There was a cache near this waterfall. Short hike into the falls.

Elk, Once again ADK did not want to be in a photo.

ADK, If I have to be! ! ! !
But I am not going to smile.
