The luminary's were lit at 9pm and stayed lit through out the night. I was very surprised when I woke at 4 am to walk the early morning shift to see the bags still lit. It was awesome.

Late night crew. I finally called it at night at 11:30pm because I had to get up at 4am to walk the early morning shift. I walked from 4:15am to 6:30am.

The team after the long night. Stephanie, Christy, Leanne, Tina, ELK, Karen, Lexi, Gina, Barbara, Josie. Missing members in action.

ELK and Lexi running the 3 legged race. They had to do one lap around the track and they came in first place. Hard to believe that Lexi and ELK are the same age.

Relay for Life

Join me in the fight to find a cure for Cancer. I am participating in the relay in honor of Sandy Swenson who past away July 2008 at the age of 43 with breast cancer. Sandy fought the cancer for five year and was a huge supporter of Relay for Life.
I got to know Sandy through scrapbooking. We were part of group that would go twice a year on weekend retreats to Meacham, Or scrapbooking. When she pasted our group went into a funk and did not go last October on our weekend retreat. Spring rolled around and we just were getting together like we use to. I thought it would be good for our group to create a team in her memory. It has brought life and energy back to our group.
I am looking forward to participating this year. It is my first year and I hope to make it an annual event. Even ADK and ELK plan to walk with me during my turn.

I have set a goal of $1000 and currently have reached 54% of my goal. Please donate. Follow the link to make an online donate. http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/RelayForLife/RFLFY09GW?px=10162489&pg=personal&fr_id=14628

Milton-Freewater City Tournament Championship Game

Rick's team made it to the Championship game in the City Tournament. We never expected his team to make it that far in the tournament. They are a very young team and did extremely well this season. The boys played there hardest. The first game went 8 innings until they lost. It is a double elimination tournament so that forced a second game since they had only one loss in the tournament. The second game was played the next day and they lost a second time. Both games were close games. We are all very proud of the boys and the season they had.
Team introductions.
ELK and Rick watching the game. waiting for his turn at bat.
Getting warmed up and ready to go.

Elk was the catcher for a few inning in the first game.

Memorial Day Weekend

We went camping over the holiday weekend with Rick's High School friend, Dave & Bonnie. We went camping out of Kamela, OR where Rick and Dave have hunting since HS.
Rick cooking breakfast the last morning after the "Boys" got back from there morning hunt. Well Dave was the only one with a cougar tag. The boys were squirrel hunting. Sunday we took a drive out the the old cabin homestead.

Elk pretending he is living in the olden days shooting diner out the window of the cabin.

Lacy and Tina checking the view out.

Rick was looking for animals on the other side of the draw. It was also fun watching the a few hawks going after something on the ground. They were swooping down but never did see them get anything.

Rick took the camera from me to get a few photos of me.
