Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef Project
During my very short stay, one day, in the Phoenix area I got to go to the Scottsdale Library and see the Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef Project. The monumental crochet installation resembling a living coral reef. The project celebrates the craft, and hopes to raise awareness of the connection between choices we make every day, global warming and the disappearance of the underwater gardens.

ADK had his first major injury in baseball this past Tuesday evening. Of course Mom and Dad were at ELK's baseball game. His game was at Borkesky Stadium in Walla Walla and I had planned to take him. He had arranged transportation because I had a doctors appointment to go to. ADK told me not to worry about going that he had it all handled and would be fine with out a parent there. I was joking with him that what would happen if you broke both your legs. ADK said he would come home with two broken legs where we were there or not. ELK and Dad needed me at their game to keep score. So I did go and keep score. At the top of the 6th inning I got a call from ADK coach telling me that he took a direct pitch to the eye. They had ice on it but what did I want them to do. Well I ran to the dug out tossed the books to Rick telling him I was headin to Borlesky because ADK had been hurt. I made it there in record time. Off we went to St. Mary's Medical. Good news the CAT scan showed no broken bones. He was going to end up with a great shiner. That he did.
Don't you dare take my photo......
Caught him off guard. Hope to get another one now that it is a few days later. He is already to get back out on the field. Mom and Dad are holding him off for a few days to make sure the eye is healed and the vision is not affected. I feel really guilty that I was not there. You can bet that one of us parents will be a game from here on out. This is actually the first time one of us has not been at a game.
I have never understood the parents who don't go watch their kids sporting events. Rick has one on his team. The player has been on Rick's team 3 years now and we have never seen a parent at a game. Pretty sad.
