ADK first road trip since getting his driving permit on March 9, 2011. He drove a total of 16 hours on the trip. Was nice having that 3rd driver.
Our first geocache of the day located in Idaho.
ADK best side. We ate lunch at this geocache stop. The cache was located amongst the big rocks. The boys had fun climbing and getting some energy out of their system before we hit the road again.
One Big Rock cache located. Elevation - 5456 ft. Beautiful sunny day but the wind was very cold. OH yeah there were lots of big rocks. We thought we would walk right to it but it was about the 3rd big rock we went to.
The cache is an ammo can with multiple stickers on it honoring Pat Tillman who wore #40 while playing for the Phoenix Cardinals. Pat Tillman had an untimely death at the hands of fratricide will serving with the Army's 2nd Ranger Battalion in Afghanistan. This man did not let money or the prestige of being in the NFL sway him from doing what he thought was right. While out here in the desert or high over the Colorado on the by-pass, please take a moment to reflect on this incredible human being and those that are still out there keeping us safe.
Quick park and grab. Small lock 'n' lock container. Chloride was founded in 1862 with the discovery of silver ore. During its heyday, there were more than 75 mines in operation, and the population soared to 2,000 at it's peak. Currently around 150 people call the town home year-round.

Great pics! My oldest wants to get her permit this week, even though she'll be 18 next Wednesday.
I haven't geocached in so long that I'm ashamed to admit it. Maybe I'll start in the next road trip.
