The Saturday after Thanksgiving was the annual Lefse making at church. Lefse is a traditional soft Norwegian flatbread. Lefse is made out of potato, milk or cream and flour, and cooked on a griddle. Special tools are used for lefse baking, including long wooden turning sticks and special rolling pins with deep grooves.
ELK turn the Lefse with the flat wooden turning stick.
Here I am getting ready to turn the lefse on the griddle.
GB is helping her granddaughter roll out the dough.
It was a snow day so there was a low turn out for lefse making. Those that showed had a great time and lots of lefse to take home to eat.
